Jaydens Birthday Party!
Sorry Amanda, Your pic sais Tyson below it, I cant fix it!
Jayden turned 5 on Monday, December 22nd. I cant believe he is getting so big! He got to start the day out by going on a little field trip with some kids from his school. Around holidays when they are out of school, they invite the kids (if they want to) to go places and teach them how to behave correclty when out in public. I guess on Monday they walked aroud the mall and Rachel let him buy a flag with her credit card which I guess he loved. Rachel is one of our favorite helpers from Giant Steps and she is quitting to go to hair school. We are so sad. We hope her replacement is just as nice. Anyway he left at about 9:00 am and got home at 2:00 pm. Then later that night we had his "crane" party. He LOVES cranes. I gave him a big Tonka crane that he has been wanting now for over a year. He was so happy. At his party we did a construction word search and played pin the present on the crane hook. I really didnt know what else to do. Normally we would just have pizza and cake and ice cream but he had been wanting this "crane" party for so long that we had to make it a little more special. He was sad that Jerick and Gunner weren't there but he had fun with everyone else to.

Forgiveness.....something we need more of!!!
So today on my way to school I witnessed a teenage boy, crossing the street, get hit by a car. The poor kid was crossing on the crosswalk and the girl was obviously not paying attention. I saw her hit him and he rolled onto the ground, I immediately got out to see if he was ok. I should have called the police as soon as I saw it happen, but I didnt. By the time I got to him he was already up on his feet. I suggested that we call the police and he said he didnt want to do that. The girl had gotten out of her car to and was almost in tears(as she should have been). He kept saying I'm ok, it was just an accident. I told him he needed to call his mom and he said I just live down the street. I told him I would give him a ride. I knew I recognized him, I just couldnt remember his name. We didnt even get the drivers name. Dur! I dont even know what I was thinking. He gave the girl a hug as she was saying how sorry she was. So I realized who he was and I told him who I was and I dropped him off at his house. Being in a hurry to get to school, I called his mom and told her that she really should take him to be looked at and she said that they were leaving right then. He was pretty sore. I told his mom who I think the driver was so they could tell the police. I was amazed at how sweet this boy was. Giving the driver a hug and telling her it was ok is way more than I would have done. It just goes to show that some people are raising their kids right.
A couple of weeks ago Aleena an I almost got hit by some teenage boy at this same two-way stop. I had a close call awhile back where I almost hit a girl on a bike. It wasnt entirely my fault but it scared me so bad that I pay alot more attention now when I am turning. This was only one street over from where the boy got hit. This area around AF High is so dangerous, especially before and after school and during lunch. These High school kids are in to big of a hurry and dont pay attention. I am amazed someone has not been killed. I dont think anything will be done to change the situation until that happens, which is disturbing.
This boy is a great example of how we should all be. We should be able to forgive people who make mistakes, as dumb as they may be. We are all human and we are all prone to making errors. So as it gets closer to Christmas and more people are out on the streets keep your eyes open and stop at cross walks. I dont know how many times I have come to a cross walk and I am the only one stopping to let the person cross. Dont be in such a hurry people! Everyone deserves a safe holiday, well almost everyone!

Random pictures from the last 3 weeks!
Jayden playing UNO with his uncle Trevor. He looks all relaxed. Aleena and I thought it was just too cute. Jayden loves this game. Trevor got it for his birthday and Jayden immediately became obsessed. He can match the colors and the numbers, which is GREAT! Santa Clause may have to bring this game to our house!
Jayden's sad face. How can you not feel bad for him? :(
