Jaydens Birthday Party!

Sorry Amanda, Your pic sais Tyson below it, I cant fix it!
Jayden turned 5 on Monday, December 22nd. I cant believe he is getting so big! He got to start the day out by going on a little field trip with some kids from his school. Around holidays when they are out of school, they invite the kids (if they want to) to go places and teach them how to behave correclty when out in public. I guess on Monday they walked aroud the mall and Rachel let him buy a flag with her credit card which I guess he loved. Rachel is one of our favorite helpers from Giant Steps and she is quitting to go to hair school. We are so sad. We hope her replacement is just as nice. Anyway he left at about 9:00 am and got home at 2:00 pm. Then later that night we had his "crane" party. He LOVES cranes. I gave him a big Tonka crane that he has been wanting now for over a year. He was so happy. At his party we did a construction word search and played pin the present on the crane hook. I really didnt know what else to do. Normally we would just have pizza and cake and ice cream but he had been wanting this "crane" party for so long that we had to make it a little more special. He was sad that Jerick and Gunner weren't there but he had fun with everyone else to.

I guess its cool now to ride in the dump truck, rather than push it!

Jayden The Red Nosed Reindeer

Today at school they painted Jaydens nose red and they made these cute little antlers. He looked so cute with them on that I bribed him with a candy cane to let me get a picture!

Utah Flash Game

Thanks to Trevor, Jayden and I were able to go to the Utah Flash game on Friday night. It was pretty fun and Jayden was great. We are so thankful that Trev let us use two of his tickets he had gotten from school. He's a great little brother and uncle. We love him very much!

Forgiveness.....something we need more of!!!

So today on my way to school I witnessed a teenage boy, crossing the street, get hit by a car. The poor kid was crossing on the crosswalk and the girl was obviously not paying attention. I saw her hit him and he rolled onto the ground, I immediately got out to see if he was ok. I should have called the police as soon as I saw it happen, but I didnt. By the time I got to him he was already up on his feet. I suggested that we call the police and he said he didnt want to do that. The girl had gotten out of her car to and was almost in tears(as she should have been). He kept saying I'm ok, it was just an accident. I told him he needed to call his mom and he said I just live down the street. I told him I would give him a ride. I knew I recognized him, I just couldnt remember his name. We didnt even get the drivers name. Dur! I dont even know what I was thinking. He gave the girl a hug as she was saying how sorry she was. So I realized who he was and I told him who I was and I dropped him off at his house. Being in a hurry to get to school, I called his mom and told her that she really should take him to be looked at and she said that they were leaving right then. He was pretty sore. I told his mom who I think the driver was so they could tell the police. I was amazed at how sweet this boy was. Giving the driver a hug and telling her it was ok is way more than I would have done. It just goes to show that some people are raising their kids right.
A couple of weeks ago Aleena an I almost got hit by some teenage boy at this same two-way stop. I had a close call awhile back where I almost hit a girl on a bike. It wasnt entirely my fault but it scared me so bad that I pay alot more attention now when I am turning. This was only one street over from where the boy got hit. This area around AF High is so dangerous, especially before and after school and during lunch. These High school kids are in to big of a hurry and dont pay attention. I am amazed someone has not been killed. I dont think anything will be done to change the situation until that happens, which is disturbing.
This boy is a great example of how we should all be. We should be able to forgive people who make mistakes, as dumb as they may be. We are all human and we are all prone to making errors. So as it gets closer to Christmas and more people are out on the streets keep your eyes open and stop at cross walks. I dont know how many times I have come to a cross walk and I am the only one stopping to let the person cross. Dont be in such a hurry people! Everyone deserves a safe holiday, well almost everyone!

Random pictures from the last 3 weeks!

Jayden playing UNO with his uncle Trevor. He looks all relaxed. Aleena and I thought it was just too cute. Jayden loves this game. Trevor got it for his birthday and Jayden immediately became obsessed. He can match the colors and the numbers, which is GREAT! Santa Clause may have to bring this game to our house!
Jayden's sad face. How can you not feel bad for him? :(

I've been picture tagged

I got picture tagged!
Here's how you do it: take the fourth picture folder and post the fourth picture in that folder. Then you take the sixth folder and post the sixth picture in that folder. Explain the pictures and then send the tag along.

This is a picture of my nephew, Gunner Wyatt Powell. I took it my moms house one night. I think he was like 3 or 4 months old at the time. The poor lil guy has very dry skin. That would be why he looks like he has a rash on his face!

This is a picture of Jayden from last June. We went to the Highland Glenn Park with Trevor and Robert. Jayden had made his own fishing pole with a straw, some string, and a golf ball. Shortly after this I bought him a mini spiderman fishing pole that he could really catch fish with.
The people I would like to see do this are: Darla, Amanda Blanco, and anyone else who feels the need!

Carving Pumpkins

I had to work Halloween night so I was buisy getting things ready when Jayden got off the bus that day. He had his Halloween costume on then but by the time we got to Grandmas house he was crying and didnt want it on anymore. I hadnt got any pictures of him. I hoped that he would put it back on before going trick or treating so Grandma could take a picture for me, but he didn't. We did however, carve pumpkins on Thursday night. This is how they turned out:

Much better!

My face is much better today! The swelling is pretty much gone. The sores/burned area scabbed up(A little different then a normal scab) but they have all fallen off today and yesterday. Now it just feels tight, dry, and itchy. I looked like a freak! People kept looking at me but no one would say anything. It was kind of funny!

Waxing!

Not my best picture, but you can see what this stuff did to my face!
OK so it was time for me pluck my eyebrows again. I am tired of doing and look forward to the day that I can afford laser hair removal. Well I decided to buy a wax kit and just wax all the hair off at one time rather than one hair at a time. I went to Target spent 10 minutes choosing a kit. I got home got everything ready and went to town waxing my poor face. Well I got done and was noticing how red my face looked. I didn't think much of it as this is normal with waxing. I proceeded to wash my face off and put on this stuff that came in the kit that was suppose to soothe the skin. It didn't do that for me. My face immediately felt like it was on fire and began to swell up everywhere I had waxed. I was on the verge of tears. Never in all the other times of waxing had this happened before. I look like a freak. My face is still hurting and swollen 9 hours later. I dont know what to do. Ice helps but I am working and cant very well go around with that on my face. Oh its miserable. Next time I will pay someone to wax my eyebrows or I will go on plucking my hair one at a time. The nurse I am working with said that she had the same problem one time and it took a week for her skin to get back to normal. SCARY!!! Pay somebody if your need to get your hair removed, dont be cheap like me!

7 things about ME!

My friend Darla and my Aunt Debbie tagged me and said I had to come up with 7 things about myself. I wanted to think of 7 things that some people may not know.

1- My idol is Jennifer Lopez. I think that she is absolutely gorgeous. If I could afford to have plastic surgery I would make myself look just like her minus the butt. I dont know why but I have always liked her. I have a few of her movies and plan to add to my collection.

Perfection

2- I am a perfectionist. When I do any sort of project it has to look perfect. It doesn't matter whether it is a school project, a scrapbook page, or a present that I have wrapped it always has to look just right. The other night I was playing The Farming Game with my family and had to keep rearranging my money and my little stickers. They all had to be lined up just right! I wish I could be this way with my apartment.

3- I am a huge klutz. I should not be allowed to use fire, knives, or scissors. I cannot use scissors or knives without cutting myself. I will burn myself with fire or hot glue guns. I have fallen on my head more times than I can count. One time I probably should have went to the hospital. That knocked me a little silly but I got up, rested for a minute, and then finished my shift at work. I had a hugs goose egg on my head for awhile that hurt pretty bad. I broke my fifth metatarsal on my right foot from stepping on my moms blow dryer cord two years ago. That one hurt a little bit to!

4-I love to scrapbook! I wish I had more time to do it. The problem is I am very picky! I can't just throw a page together, I have to really think about it. If it doesn't turn out just right then I get really mad. I also make a huge mess and it always ends up all over my table. It also costs me a LOT of money, which I dont really have right now.

5- I love to play games with my family. I really like The Farming Game(sort of like Monopoly) right now. I also love to play Phase Ten, Monopoly, and Yahtzee. I think that playing games keeps our family close, even though dad gets really mad when he loses. I even play Bunko every month with my mom, sisters, and my aunt, and cousins. I love going, it is a great break from Jayden and we always get to eat yummy food too!

6- I am a textaholic! I will text anyone I possibly can to get out of talking to people on the phone or face to face. That is pretty much how I stay in contact with everybody! I get anxiety when I talk to people on the phone. Me and my sisters even got my mom into texting also. Its so much easier to just send someone a text then to call them and have to think of things to say!

7- I am very afraid of worms. They really make me sick! I cant stand the sight of them. I hate that they come out after or during the rainstorms. I almost want to throw up in my mouth they make me so sick. Some people will scream because of a bee or a fly. I will scream and start having convulsions(literally) if I see a worm. EEEWWWWWW! YUCKY! This picture really made me sick now I feel like the worms are crawling on me!

Pumpkins and Cookies!

I have been waiting to go buy pumpkins until I could get them really cheap. Well today they went on sale at Maceys for .12 cents a pound. We went to pick a couple out tonight. I wanted to get a picture of Jayden with the pumpkins he picked out but he has been very awnry and emotional today. I think that it has something to do with me being back in school full time now. I am sure it is very hard for him to have to go back and forth from our house, school, and grandmas and grandpas house. Poor kid, I wish I was done but I only have 146 more days. Then I plan on buying a new car and we are going to do some fun stuff over the summer. Maybe that will include finding me a boyfriend, we will see. We went to the Pumpkin Patch last week with Jaydens Giant Steps friends(as he would say. I was so sad when my batteries died in my camera and I didn't get any pictures. That night I went out and bought 4 rechargeable batteries and a charger. I am not going to miss out on any pictures ever again!

With Halloween almost here Aleena and I decided to make sugar cookies shaped like ghosts, pumkins, and bats. I think they turned out pretty good. Even if they looked bad I know our family would still eat them. They never turn down anything sweet!

LPN Graduation

My LPN graduation was last night at Thanksgiving Point. It turned out pretty good. I was disappointed, however, that there were only 7 of us from my class that actually walked. My family was so nice to come support me. Thanks Mom, Dad, Tyson, Amanda, Aleena, Trevor,Robert, Jayden, and Grandma and Grandpa Nash. You are all so great and without you I wouldn't be where I am today. Thanks again!

It's gonna be tough!

This first two days of this week have gone by very quickly. I started my third nursing semester yesterday. This semester I am taking Medical Surgical Nursing II, Psych, Ethics, IV Pharmacology, and SCE(a class where you practice scenarios with a dummy that actually breathes, has a pulse, and blinks his eyes). You are suppose to try different things in SCE that either kill your patient or help him/her to get better. It is a pretty neat thing. Its so lifelike its kind of scary. I think this semester is going to be pretty tough. I am going to have to try pretty hard to be able to pass. Soon we will be learing how to start IV's and administer IV medications. I am not really looking forward to doing this.

No school! YaY!!

I have had a week of no homework or tests and it has been great. One more week until I start going to school full time again. Bummer! I am not looking forward to it at all. I have had a lot of anxiety lately, thinking that I wont be able to do what I need to do at clinicals. This semester I will be doing my clinicals at the hospital in Payson. I did my second semester at Timpanogas Hospital. They didn’t let us do anything there. I have always been with my friend, Liz. It has helped to have someone there that I know. This time I will be all by myself. I think that has made my anxiety worse. I have made it this far so it can only be downhill from here. I met with a Psychiatrist at Jayden’s school this week. She started him on some new medications. So far, knock on wood, they are helping a lot. He started them on Thursday night and on Friday his teachers say they saw a huge improvement. He is going to sleep earlier and sleeping all night. Hopefully these results will continue and he will be able to go to mainstream kindergarten next year. This year Jayden is going to Giant Steps, an autism preschool. I started volunteering there yesterday and was very impressed. They are so organized and structured. They know just what to do to keep the kids on track and under control. I feel so blessed that he was able to get in this year. I hope that as I continue to volunteer every week I can bring some of their ideas home to try. I was planning on starting Weight Watchers next week but I now have to postpone it for one or two more weeks. Well Jayden is waiting for me to get ready(I worked last night and slept all morning). We are going to see the crane they are using at my work right now. He is obsessed with cranes and plans to be a crane driver when he gets big(LOL). Maybe I can convince him to go see Kung Fu Panda tonight at the sticky shoe. We will see.
